radio works but no sound

thi smay sound like a strange problem. the radio works but i hear no sound (yes i cheked the volume)i think it might be something with the amp but i have no idea i don't even know where to start plese help! :confused:

Are your amps a)present and b) connected. If you do not have both the factory JBL amps, then you need a bypass kit (wiring harness) that any sound shop should have available. If all that is in order, check yor connections behind the radio to make sure everything is copesthetic. Also, check your fuses to make sure one isn't blown.

Actually, there is no problem with the wiring. My CD player in my 91+ MTX did the exact same thing. it would light up, but no sound. I thought the cd player was maybe "frozen", as it was quite cold out side. I disconnected my cd and tape player, took them in the house, and got them to room temp. I then took them back out and re installed them and still no action. So, I came to the conclusion that the amp was "frozen". I have not tried to take the amp out, because my SHO is currently down with a bad throwout bearing.....Let me know what you try and what the outcome is
