if I am listening to the FM radio I will hear a beep randomly then the radio starts turning stations. Drives me nuts because I am not touching anything. Sometimes does it 2 times a drive other times doesn't do it at all. What I've done is made a new CD and listen to that or on my phone through BT. Anyone else have this issue or know what might be causing it?

Since the buttons on the screen are software based, I'd look more towards the steering wheel buttons. Ever had any steering wheel work done? Horn? Air bag? Turn signal switch?

The steering wheel switches won't generate a pop noise when pressed. Thats reserved for the touch screen and the F.C.I.M. (the radio and hvac controls below the touch screen)

You can turn the beep on and off for the touch screen and FCIM separately in the touchscreen menus to determine which is at fault.

Sync gen 2 is looking for a release of the touchscreen, gen 3 is looking for a press.

I had an issue with the capacitive buttons on the panel below the screen causing my driver's side heat to go to full hot. Of course this seemed to happen most often when the cabin temperature was high, such as after sitting outside at work all day (pre-COVID-19). I replaced the FCIM panel which fixed the issue.

My 2015 is doing this nonstop, I can't listen to the radio or Bluetooth because it just constantly changes stations. The volume works but none of the tune or seek buttons work nor does the power button.

Thank you for the reply. I thought steering wheel too but since wheel doesn't beep it leads to something else. Strange thing is when my wheel is slightly turned to the right it seems to do it continuously. Beep. Beep. Beep..willing to bet that touch panel below the screen isn't cheap either!?. I might do a complete factory reset then unplug the battery to clear it all out and see if that helps. Our cars never truly get a power cycle like other computers or electronic equipment. Ill report back if that helps.

My 2018 SHO did this, but would switch inputs while turning. Dealer had to reflash the apim to fix it. They had just replaced the climate control module and the flash messed up somewhere. But it fixed it.

I pulled the battery cables and the fuses and did a master reset with no change, guess I'll be looking into a new panel to see if it fixes it.

I am here to report that after pulling microsd card out, doing a factory reset and pulling the negative battery terminal for 5 minutes. My car didn't seek at all to and from work or to Jimmy John's for lunch. Normally it would have done it at least 10 times. That worked for me for now. I have a feeling it is a bandaid but still a very easy thing to do. If it comes back first ill just pull the neg wire on the battery first to see what actually did work for stopping it. This weekend I may run a new ground wire to the frame. Larger gauge and strip the paint where I secure it to. I have yet to drive a car that had a sufficient ground from the factory.

I've had my 2019 radio do some odd things now and then too. For example, I'll have it on an AM station - stop somewhere for a bit - get back in and it's now on an FM station! And occasionally my guage "layouts" suddenly change.

That's weird, usually the system will default to a.m. this is a software fault. There is a message to reprogram the a.c.m. for other modules, but not enough Taurus owners complained and we were not included.
