Does anyone know if the stock system output is equalized or unequalized?

I bought a JL Audio CleanSweep after a tech at an audio store recommended it, but I went back to this same store yesterday to have it installed, (as I was able to purchase it for 50% less than the shop wanted) and another tech told me it was not needed as my system was already unequalized. Is this correct?

Also, what other options do I have for an AUX input if I don't use this cleansweep? I want something for my satellite radio.

I haven't personally used that kit-sorry. I have only heard from others who have used it, and they are happy with the unit. I do know there is a selector module that goes up in the cabin. as for the input lines, they are just RCA so you can get a 1/8" TRS to RCA cable any length you want.

I went the Radio Shack route for my XM receiver and wasn't happy with the sound quality so I reverted back to the tape adapter.

I would reccomend the PIE unit, as it sounds like a higher quality way to go.

Yea thats what I was thinking as well. I'm gonna go with the PIE unit and I'll report back to any interested. Also, the PIE seems to be alot easier and quicker to install.

I have the PIE X3, it uses the CD changer as a passthru for up to 3 auxillary inputs. Wasn't hard to hook up at all and cost me under $100.

It sounds excellent with my Sirius.

The PIE unit is the way to go. The "destruct"-tions on V8SHO.com are, like most the rest of the information there, outdated. With the V8SHO instructions, you have to have a tape, playing music, in the tape deck to activate it. Which is all well and good, but what happens when the tape deck eventually dies in the football?

Go PIE for the best sound, go fm modulator for the next step down.
