I need a new radio bought the car and didn’t come with one does anyone have an idea of a good aftermarket radio? I look at them online and I see ones I like but I don’t know if they will fit or not and if they are any good?

Are you missing a single or double DIN hole in the dash? Get a good brand midgrade head unit. Figure out what features are important and go from there. Crutchfield is a good place to start for models and features and shop around for price after that.

When you say single or double what do you mean cause I think it might be a single because it’s not overly sized and it looks like my step dads radio which had only a CD player and radio capabilities would fit

I have an Alpine system in my 91. The headunit is more than 10 years old but still performs great. If I were in the market for a new one I would stick with Alpine because I've always been happy with their performance. Options have changed so much in the last ten years though. Mine has an ipod input but doesn't play MP3s and isnt satellite or Bluetooth compatible. Those are 2 things I'd look for in a new one. I think 50 watts per channel used to be good output but that may have changed. Do some Google searching and read some reviews.

You will also have to look in the trunk and see what the speaker and amplifier configuration is to install new head unit. I would rip out everything and start fresh but I'm weird like that. There are other bypasses and hookup options. Also you may or may not have aftermarket speakers in there if the radio was taken out already so you have to investigate what you have currently. If you have original speakers they are quite old and may or may not still perform

The dash opening is standard DIN for normal stereos. One more excellent thing about the G2 SHO - no stupid "oval" for a custom stereo, no mounting kit needed that replaces an entire dash panel, no super-integrated non-removable stereo like new cars, because everything from door chimes to sat nav and fake engine noise goes through the stereo.

(before DIN, the standard stereo cutout was two knobs (one hole on each side) and a center opening for the display.)

You might need to fashion a rear mount bracket for the center bolt on the back of the stereo's case out of plumber's tape. Stereos can have different depths. The harder you can make it to steal, the better.

The storage compartment is also a standard DIN location, for a second unit. There is enough space to put in a double-DIN unit if you want to hack the dash panel up, but it is not a standard option and would take some custom installation work.

Then you just need to pick features. Do you want to power separate amplifiers, do you need RCA outputs for front/back/sub? Do you want Bluetooth, AUX in, satellite radio (usually an add-on module), USB stick compatibility, built-in hard drive storage, front 3.5mm headphone jack in... Do you want built-in crossovers, parametric EQ, digital time correction. Do you still play CDs or even cassette, or do you want DVD with a video out or no optical drive at all?
