I thought I was having trouble with my altinator so I went to NAPA and had them check it while on the car, they said it was bad. Well I took the thing out and was going to have it rebuilt and the company that was going to rebuild said it was fine. So I reinstalled it and now I have a whining sound coming over the radio. I checked my connection and they are tight. Any ideas on why I have this noise now, didn't have it before.

do you have any aftermarket stereo equipment in the car(head unit, amps, etc.) or do you still have the factory system in the car? aftermarket stereo equipment can cause noise if its not installed correctly. there is a small capacitor mounted on the coil pack that is suppose to remove interference noise for the radio. that might of went bad.

I do have an aftermarket radio, but I didn't have this problem until after I took the altinator out and reinstalled it. I think I will check the capacitor on the coil pack. I don't think that it a ground issue because the only ground wire I removed was the battery cables.
