Hi everyone,
I am new to this site and have spent the last hour or so browsing all the audio pages looking for the answer to my question but could not find it so here it is. I was wondering how many cables connect the tape deck to the cd player, I no one looks just like the amp wire loom and interconnects them but I have another one too that I don't know if it is suppose to be hooked up and if so where it has small black ends that don't really look like they would plug into anything, but do they? And does that battery go out in all ten year old SHO radios or does it last longer in some. Thanks for the help in advance Later, Seth
btw it is a 91 with the JBL system and the seperate radio/tape deck and cd player

There are two connectors. One is the one you described small square one that jumps from radio to cd player. Second is a Y adapter for the power. You remove the power plug from the radio and plug it into the Y and now you have power plugs one for the radio one for the cd player. there is also a ground wire that is attatched in with them. I got mine with my cd player from a salvage, and they were taped together from the factory. The small black one you are refering to is the ground wire I mentioned. On the back of the radio and cd player there is a connection tab just slide on.
