I'm getting conflicting information, I spent hours researching. Can someone that still has that label under their hood tell me what it says for r12. I no longer have that information panel that is bolted to the radiator support. I'm not converting over I think it's worth the cost difference, not to mention my interior is black.

My a/c is working, but I don't think I have the correct charge. Either the charge is off or the noisy compressor is a piece of junk. It doesn't get cold as fast as the oem compressor did. I'm going to replace it and buy new before it grenades and I want to be certain I have the correct charge.

I didn't know about Devin's site. The strange thing is in alldata it said 36 ounces in numerous areas. I went with the 41 oz spec and it gets cold, just not nearly as quick as my 200k mile compressor.

Unfortunately I got a bad rebuilt compressor that is the noisiest thing i've ever heard under the hood in my life. I shit you not it's louder than my obnoxious straight through magnaflow muffler that also needs to be changed. After 3k it goes away, but below that it's a whine, drone, howl that's there from idle to 3k. It seems to quiet up some when it has been running, but i'm running on borrowed time I believe.

I'm trying to change every rusted piece of crap line so I never have to worry about this again in my life. I'm having a **** of a time. I'd like to know someones input if they think this discharge line would work other than the obvious 134a input. My car is a 92.

I think I should just convert over but I have no idea if the receiver/drier in that location would work with my application. It seems that they moved it for 134a but that could be incorrectly listed. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=871778&cc=1138957&jsn=913

The suction hose runs along the firewall? I think that is the one that I had to use aftermarket to synch up. The ebay oem I think I had purchased oem as well. This was for a GenII with 134a original factory setup. Not the GenI r12

You got a warranty on the compressor?

That rockauto part must be incorrectly listed. I'm probably just going to get a used r12 discharge line from a member on here.

I already got a refund on the compressor but it's probably not long for the world. I've been running it for a little while and it's starting to get to me. I'm sure I could just get away with putting an oem compressor in, but those rusted lines are going to be an issue down the road.

Another member had an issue with the same compressor from the same seller, but his locked up after two days. Once I realized it wasn't a four seasons product and was a lie I should've never installed it but I couldn't wait. Now I get to do it over again, but this time i'm replacing every line I can find. My oem compressor worked fine, but the shaft seal was leaking bad.

Apparently they did change the location of the receiver/drier with 134a. I can't see how it would fit with my car, there's no way. I heard the atx's had more room back there?

I gotta ask, why in the world is someone still using R12? Change the drier, conversion kit, vacuum and recharge with 134a.

I'd love to see someones underhood label with my own eyes or have someone confirm the 41oz number. For some reason I didn't think it was that much but i'm probably wrong. Here's is what's listed on alldata for my '92?

With r12 if all is well you turn on the compressor and it's cold almost instantly and it gets so cold that it hurts your hand if you hold it on the vent. If I didn't have a black interior i'd convert it. I make sure I don't have any leaks by leaving it overnight with a vacuum held before I put the freon in and you can find it for 25 a can if you're patient.

The 94 manual says the SHO takes 32 oz of R134a. I know the R12 systems used a little more.

For some reason I still have a collection of those plastic pieces in my garage. All the R134 labels say 2 lb (32 oz). One earlier piece has the required label missing, and the other has been converted and the R12 label removed and replaced with a R134 label, which says 2 lb.

I would use about 36 oz.

This is where the cofusion herein lies. Once I read that label I remembered it, i've owned three 92's all with r12 systems.

I wonder if the correct charge is the alldata image I posted and there is misinformation online. I'm typing this without refreshing my mind but if a pound is 12oz of r12 then 36oz is where they got their number. I'll post back when I find out.

So far I snagged a new ford compressor of ebay, oem liquid line with r12 orifice, oem r134a discharge line to manifold, oem manifold suction line and aftermarket receiver/drier. I'm thinking about replacing the condenser also, it's original, but I have yet to find a condenser that is for r12.

If anyone wants to get a full oem gasket kit for a 3.0 for cheap as **** they are available on ebay, I bought one for no reason. I've never even seen one other than rcm and I just had to have it.

I'm pretty sure 2.75lbs is accurate, but I'll double check.

I must assume that we are talking about fluid ounces not weight ounces if 1lb = 12oz. Never seen lb in fluid before.
