I have a 95 ATX, and before I got the car the PO installed Quickstruts in the rear, and after I got it I installed the Quickstruts in teh front. The rears were installed about a year ago, and the fronts were replaced last August.

My car exhibits noticable sagass, in that visibly the rear looks to be at least an inch to an inch and a half lower than the front. Should hte Quickstruts do this? I have the battery and a small box and 2 10" in the trunk, but the box really doesn't weigh more than 40 or 50 pounds. Should this happen this soon? Or is it that the fronts are just too high, as I have noticed the sagging from teh time I installed teh fronts? Any help would be great... Thanks

Sorry, this isn't a performance upgrade.. Does anyone know the spring rate for Quickstruts?

The taurus always looks lower in the rear than the front. it might just be where the rear fender is creating an optical illusion. Measure and see if it is actually lower. Also, the fronts may need time to break in. Either way, anything would be better than those original fronts ;-)

I think the spring rate is the same as a normal Taurus... don't quote me on that though.

I just finished installing Quickstruts on my '89 SHO. So far, I like 'em. They ride SO much better than the original struts that were on the car, and the well-known saggy ass is gone now! The springs still need to settle a bit, especially in the front, but I'll post some before and after pics later if anyone is interested.

Could one could cut a coil off the front springs of a quickstrut without adverse effects. Or will this require moving the strut lower in the knuckle?

If this is not feasable could I install cut Moogs with Monroe's and not screw up anything?

I'm not looking for a super still performance ride just functional daily driver with slightly less fender gap.

If anyone has the 411 on this I'd appreciate it.

You'd have to remove the spring, as quick struts are all assembled and are a drop in replacement. I guess you could cut a coil if you wanted, but that would defeat the purpose of being assembled.

VERY common choice lately.

I am one of the first SHO owners (at least on this forum) to go for the Moog/Monroe Sensa-trac setup. One coil cut up front.

Ive got s a touch more than 50k miles on the setup now, and it still feels great. The struts are nearing the end of their live, but 50k is 50k.

Ive got a thread in the product feedback part of the forum for this particular setup.

Not entirely.

With a quickstrut, you get everything. Mount, bearing, bellows, coil, and strut.

But yes, they are aimed at a simple install, one without having to disassemble the strut assembly. :)

Right, thanks for elaborating... thats the reason I purchased them. Ease of install... well... for the actual parts. Those 2 snapped pinch bolts were a BITCH!
