Wondering- i noticed sorta a squeeling sound in the engine bay while pumping gas...so i open the hood and found it to be my alternator..and its ssqueeling inside of it and not on the pulley... when this happens is that a sign of it going ot what???? i never had a dead battery or a problem with power- i have a very moderate sound system very soon it will be big... i should probably test it- whats the procedure neone know...

It does sound like it might be the alternator bearings. This doesn't affect the output until the bearings seize. You can replace just the bearings for around $10-$15, but what the heck are you doing pumping gas with the engine running? There are signs posted above every pump island advising you to shut the engine off while pumping gas.

I knew someone would say that- i guess i like to break the rules wherever i go... once i have been pumping and it overflowed os much that my whole car was in a puddle while its running....and i guess that hasnt made me scared enough to turn my car off. mostly is to keep my girl warm or cool... nehow so the bearings r bad humm- so eventually my squeek will just get owrse to the point of ceizing and than new alt or bearings which i wont mess with opening it...thanx for the advice scott..

Scott is right, that's a very hazardous thing to do. It would only take a small spark to set off the gasoline if the vapors were in a combustible range. The downside is so bad that it's not worth it to break that rule. I once heard a safety speech by a burn victim, he said the pain was so excruciating during the rehabilitation that he literally wished he had died. I don't mean to preach, just SHOwing concern for a fellow SHO fanatic.

Great looking car by the way.

Also I've seen this happen don't know if its possible on a SHO but I will assume it can. The fuel vapors start getting sucked down the intake and the motor runs away (hope your rev limiters work)
