Hey guys,

I've searched the thread abit, but didn't specifically come up with the answer to my question. When I picked up my car, the Ford emblem on the front bumper cover, and the drivers side 24v emblem was missing. Now I got replacements, but the housings of the emblems are still on the car. The ones I bought, came in their housings as well. How exactly do you remove the emblem from the housing? I tried a razor blade, and a small screw driver but they just don't want to budge. I don't want to crack them either. Maybe one of you guys might know? Thanks in advance!!

People recommend heating them up with like a hair dryer...and then prying them easily or using some fishing line to cut the adhesive behind the emblems.

The emblem on the front I believe has little posts stick out of it that key it on the front. The side 24DOHC badges are just stuck on...no tabs.

i'd reccomend removing the old housings from the car rather than the housings fro mthe new emblem. IIRC when i fixed my 89 after a wreck, i had an extra ford emblem, pried it apart and the glue ripped some of the blue off of the back of the FORD logo.

Thanks for the responses!! I guess I'll just remove the old 24v housings. Will the adhesive damage the paint? Again, thanks guys!
