Couple quick questions.
Is it true that running Stage 2 tune can actually improve gas mileage? If so, what is the general concensus on the real-life MPG gain? 10%, 20%??
Second, does having the tune affect the bumper to bumper warranty, or would the nice service people even know about the changes from the tune?

Thanks for the expert responses. Tim

I have the Stage 2 in my Flex and I can attest to better gas mileage. 1-2 mpg....so what is that 5%? I have about the same gains running the Stage 4 tune in the SHO. Haven't driven it enough to give you data on my current tune. The difference in performance along with maybe slightly better gas mileage makes it a "no brainer" for me.

As far as warranty goes.....well that's always the question. Ford has to show the tune is the cause of whatever your problem is. If a taillights goes bad the warranty won't be affected. If you blow an engine...that's another story. I feel pretty comfortable that LMS's Stage 2 tune is very safe.

Off topic but have any updates come out from LMS for the sct tuner? I'm currently running the stage 3 which I received 6/10'. Wasn't aware a stage 4 was available.

My mileage improvement is right in line with darreli's. I have been experiencing a 1-2 mpg increase since I installed the Airaid CAI with the Stage 2 tune.

Is it correct that you have to use higher octane gas with the stages 3 and 4tunes? I believe i have seen people using 93 with the higher tunes, right?

We do have a stage 4. It has more boost, more timing, and no torque management. Our tuner Dan recommends higher octane with the stage 4, however I have several customers running it daily with 93 octane and no issues.

If you would like to try it, pm me with your name and email address and I can send it to you.

Thank you,

Rick
