Question about wiper arms

Is it possible to put a passenger's side wiper arm on the driver's side?

What would be the drawbacks to doing this, if any?

The reason I ask is that my driver's side arm is starting to look pretty bad with the paint coming off, and I have a brand new passenger's side arm just sitting around collecting dust.

Take it off, sand it down, and paint it with Trim-Black. It is almost like a satin-finished dull-black spray paint. I used it on mine last year, and they looked as good as new(and not out of place)

Im sure the blades on teh wipers are different. I dont know how differnt teh arms are.

I know the blades are different, I know how to paint them, what I'm asking is, can I put the passenger's side arm on the driver's side?
I'd check it myself except my car is covered in over 2" of snow right now.
Not being rude, just want to know if anyone knows a definitive answer.

I don't know why you couldn't. The post the mount on is the same. One is just 4" shorter than the other is all.

If it is 4" shorter would you be able to see the road when it is raining or snowing? I think not.
