Does anyone have a partslist of what the have to make a turbo SHO.

I know the basics like, Turbo, Piping, BOV, Wastegate.

But, What supporting mods will I need?

How about five thousand dollars worth of stuff basically, is what you will at least have into it, to be done right.

"Properly" install a turbo, like some thing they could actaully sell off a car lot :)

look at it this way many cars only rev to 5500rpm so if you have 4K of power your still doing pretty good

back on topic, I am in the parts collection stage and a while back I made this list to keep track of things for myself and to get some feedback on a few questions, its not perfect or a complete list but it a start.

Well, theoretically, you dont need any supporting mods. It just depends on how well you want the car to perform. That guy from North Carolina doesn't have many other mods and he seems to be doing okay. However, a stiff suspension and big brakes are going to help you handle the power better. And more engine mods are going to help you make more power.

But, all of this has been covered before.

This is what I have on my turbo car. FMU, 30lb injectors, 73mm mass air, welded motor+trans mounts, and the custom crossover pipe.

Doing any thing like this will ALWAYS end up costing more then you think.... Remmeber all the gaskets, and maintenance invovled. If you do not do it, and stuff a bunch more power in the engine.... Kiss your rod bearings good bye and other things.

I was thinking about the intercooler, but I wasnt sure how vidal it really was.

low boost does not require it. Most s/c SHOs do not have any charge cooling either. It will help but is not entirely necessary with low boost.

In my opinion, low boost is under 8-9 psi whether it is SHOSHOP blower kit or home made turbo. If you want to run 12+ psi you need lots more supporting mods including the intercooler to run efficiently.

jeff, email me, I can talk about an 'well done' ATX, but most parts may be the same for MTX. for me it really comes down to how much you want to impress. the 'oh ****' factor costs. but, as posted, it looks like one can have the basic parts welded/glued/screwed to the car for cheap.
