I ran codes today using the paperclip jumper. With the Key On Engine Off(KOEO), I got 213 and 219. With the Key On Engine Running(KOER), I got 225 and 167. I disconnected the battery; reset the idle and ran the tests again and got 111(KOEO) and 167(KOER). The cleared codes must have been stored and were no longer an issue. However, I got the 167 code again. 167 is "No throttle position sensor change in goose test(must be at least 25% rotation). Can someone please tell me what this means? I ran codes because my car seems to be burning to much gas and because my tempeture gauge does not move above the letter L on the word NORMAL.
My car seem to respond OK when I press the gas peddle, So whats up with this code?

Thanks

Dave

You either didn't do the goose test when running the KOER test or you may have a throttle position sensor issue.

Is it possible that I did not push the throttle down far enough?

What will the car act like if the throttle position sensor is bad?

Well it may have some what different shifting, and on a cold start, idle may be wacky, It does not know how much the throttle is opened and relies on the MAF to try to guess what position the Throttle is at

I have a MTX. The idle is fine. Perhaps I did not push the throttle down far enough when I ran the test. I'll try it again today.
