I own a 1994 MTX and a recently a tick has started to happed. My 1994 SHO 5sp has 128,000ish miles and there is no check engine light. So far I have replaced the: Water pump, Alternator, Battery, Serpentine belt, Wires,Plugs and Valve adjustment.
The tick from engine does not happen when the car is cold, only when the car starts to warn up. I can only hear the tick from the engine when the car is completly stopped. The tick is non-constant, and varies is the speed and sound the of the tick. The sound varies from a slow chugging like sound to very rapid/quick short tick. When I will have the car completly stopped sometimes there is no tick at all, other times there slow tick, other times there is a fast tick, yet sometimes the speed of the tick will change in speed e.g. the tick will start off like a slow chug like tick than right away after the that the will change to a fast short tick. I guess different way of describing this could be that tick will vary and and will change between slow and fast and fast and fast and slow the car is stopped. Also, The temp of the car is normal and never overheats.
What do you think could cause a tick like this? A radiator fan? A rod bearing maybe? or what do you think??
