Hello all, I'm new to this forum and I have a question that I hope someone would be able to answer for me.
I currently have a 1994 3.2 SHO motor with about 80k on it, the car was an automatic before it was wrecked. I was wondering if the 3.2 found in the Autos would be able to bolt up to the 5 speed SHO transmissions, or what modifications would need to be done to make it fit etc etc...
Thanks for your help in advance.

Hmmmm.... that means that I need a 3.0 motor for parts too. I think it's easier to find an Auto w/ no motor and go buy a 5 spd SHO.

I don't think you were absolutely clear on what you intended to do. Did you intend to take an automatic car and try to make it manual? It is far easier to take an MTX car and transplant the 3.2 into it. The ATX into an MTX switch has been done but it is far more complicated.

Oh ok, sorry about that. I had a 3.2 Automatic SHO, I wrecked it, but the motor is still immaculate. I always wanted a 5 spd, but the auto was a gift so what can you do. Now that I have the 3.2 motor, I wanted to put that in a 5 spd car. That was my intention.

Then yes, like otehrs have said, get your self a nice 5 speed. Take out the 3.0 motor and bolt in your 3.2 There are some minor mods you need to do to the 3.2 front head. The modification is cutting out a hunk of the head. So the alternator bracket will bolt on. Aside from that. It's a pretty straight forward motor swap. You might want to think about using the 3.0 cams in your 3.2 heads. Or just taking the 3.0 heads off, and putting them on the 3.2 block. That would make it so you don't have to modify the 3.2 front head.

Great if it's doable then. This car is such a headache to work on, it wouldn't be worth it to fight with it if it was terribly difficult. 3.0 cams give better high RPM power?

Yes. There is a small profile difference in the cams. Find an MTX car, swap the heads, oil pan, and the oil pump, and the pulleys and tensioner onto the 3.2 block, and you're off and running.

luigisho, I love the way you put that. Made it seem like it was an afternoon job. :) If only I could do one that quick.

lol. If it was an afternoon job mine would be done by now instead of being half completed in the shed through the winter.
