I know that you can order a kit that has the cutouts that you just insert into the letters to fill them in with whatever color you want, but I was curious if using a bottle of car paint/touch up paint would work just as well? I have a Green SHO and I wanna fill the letters in white. Could I use white touchup paint or should I just order the kit?

I took some sandpaper and scuffed up the letters a bit, then painted over then with a bottle of car touch up paint, and finally had a spray can of clear coat. I had the area taped off then did that...other than using the wrong tape and some paint leaking through, I have had no problems...

Do you have a Gen1 or a Gen2? I did mine on a Gen1, and all I did was wash the letterings really well, dried them, and masked off the ousides of the letters and sprayed the lettering (make sure you do light coats, you don't want the paint running). Then I took the tape off, took a Q-tip and dabbed it in paint thinner and took off the excess paint where I didn't want it. Then sprayed clear coat over it, but this is on a Gen1, the letterings on the Gen2 are a bit more tedious...

$7, Dayum!

Wow, I got mine for $3.50. They'll hold up very well. Many of us have used the paint pen technique.

I got mine from Bob White Decals (check SHOTimes.com). Chrome. Easier than painting, IMO. And they look pretty good! They've held up through many many washings too.

I originally had tried the paint pen....but it was a little messy for me...so I just went with the spray enamel....I was able to get them both from Walmart.
