im trying to break the fitting loose where the flexable line meets the hard line. it seems like the big nut is a 3/8. what is the little one though? seems like an 11mm but its kinda loose and having to use an open end wrench, i dont want to strip it.

Yes it is a 11mm, you should use a line or flare nut wrench if you can get one. Although on my 93 MTX nothing would work except a 6" pipe wrench to loosen the pass. side nut. Even after soaking in PB Blaster it was still a fight to get it off with the pipe wrench and a regular wrench will never work on it again. Hope yours goes smoother!!

i got it off using vice grips and a propane torch. now i stripped the bleeder valve. no amount of heat or force will make it budge. i guess i need a new caliper.

ok now ive moved onto the back lines and got the drivers side off and the new line on. the problem is, if i try to mount the line in the same place the stock line mounts, it kind of stresses the line where it bolts to the caliper. should i just leave this disconnected or should i route it a different way?

You are talking about the bracket that holds the line to the strut? I would just zip tie it.
