Purpose of Cam Welding

Is this only a problem on the 96-99 models?

since the lobes were splined on also, have there been any issues with the lobes moving on the shaft?

did the V6 engines have splined camshafts?:thankyou:

Yes, its a 96-99 issue. There have been no reported issues of the lobes moving, though, Ive diagnosed some 5.4's with that problem.

The V6 is a pinned/bolted design. No issues there.
