The goal is to make 500 WHP it'd be nice to break into the 11's but that might be asking too much

I HAVE CATLESS DOWNPIPES AND I HAVE THE XDI EVO HPFP AND HARD PIPES ON THE WAY! IM Waiting for the new pipes to come in before i install the shark nozzle for the nitrous kit. I did already purchase the noisemaker delete pipe but ill put it on my ex's SHO

Me and some of my buddies had a DYNO day, One of my old street racing buddies owns the dyno so he hooks it up on price if i organize a small group to go. Heres the new numbers
he also attached the last dyno i did with him. On the 375hp dyno the Auto Octane tune from Gearhead was at .42 instead of the .96 it was reading this last time, the only other difference is the 70mm throttle body an it picked up 21Hp. I the middle number was with the car spraying methanol as soon as it starts making boost... its weird to me that the car made less power spraying methanol and after researching other peoples experiences could have been caused by spraying it too soon... Has anybody had any problems with this? Another thing does everybody dyno their SHO's in 4th gear... cause the 1:1 gear is 5th but a 5th gear pull would be ridiculously long... and if everybody is dynoing in 4th that would actually mean that you would make more HP in 5th... the 4th gear ration on a non pp is 1.41:1 which is a .04% power difference if the information ive found is correct.

Is it tuned for meth and is it 100% methanol? My methanol tunes have always been moderately dependent on meth. I’ve never used meth for ONLY cooling. I’ve always used it for more power through increased octane, increased fuel, knock suppression and cooling the IAT2 temp. Without it I’d have a problem.

If youre not tuned for it you’ll definitely run rich.

you can give it about 600 ml and still be just off the rich side as the ecu will pull the stft back until it bottoms and not be dependent just for cooling.

THIS IS THE THING ITS NOT RICH AT AT ALL IF YOU LOOK AT THIS DYNO SHEET THE AFRS ARE LOWER BUT BY NO MEANS RICH, IM USING THE #6 NOZZLE WHICH IS 625ML/MIN AND I WAS SPRAYING AT 2PSI RAMPED TO 5PSI SO IT SHOULDVE BEEN REALLY RICH. THE RED LINE IS THE METH RUN ON THE DYNO. 802 Who are you using to tune? I was using 50/50 but will gladly spray 100% methanol if it will net results.

I run pure methanol for cooling/cleaning. Mine begins to spray at 5 psi with the mid-size nozzle from AEM V3 kit. I know if I hit the test button while in idle it will almost **** engine. The AEM kit directions state to begin spraying at 20 percent

i cant run E fuels i live in the middle of nowhere the closest pump for e anything is about an hour away

AJP Turbo tuned. I have the Alky kit and spray 1500cc 100% meth. It’s progressive and starts at 7psi. As far as results I’ve never NOT sprayed 1500cc of 100% meth and it’s definitely a key ingredient.

The kit included an M15 nozzle, I’ve never done anything differently except I bought a dual nozzle upgrade thinking more would he even better. AJPTURBO said I was spraying a lot and shouldn’t spray anymore….but I already had bought the dual nozzle so I downsized nozzles and installed the dual nozzle….but it’s still the same bc I have an M10 nozzle and an M5 nozzle. So my tune didn’t have to change. The bonus is just seeing dual nozzles when I open the hood.

I never knew or thought 1500cc was what I was spraying or anything about it, like I said it was the nozzle that came with the kit from LMS so I didn’t even look into it. I assumed it was needed. But I told AJPTURBO I didn’t want to spray any less when he informed me it was a lot bc it appeared to be working….really ******* well lol!

And 100% was what the fast guys were doing at the time so I didn’t think much about diluting it. This was just before E30 or so was a thing….it was like you’re 93 and 100% meth or you weren’t fast. Before upgraded fuel pumps and intercoolers …..going meth injected was like adding as much as a half a second to your time slip! And since the upgraded pumps and ethanol blended tunes ppl feel meth is an unnecessary risk. And for good reason, the time slips ppl were doing on E30 tunes were definitely as fast as the old 93 and meth…….but like you I don’t have access to E85.

If something works really well for me and really increases my cars Performance I’ll hold onto it. So I kept my meth injection untouched when I decided to buy race E85 fuel and do E30. And Jesus, it set the new benchmark in performance for me. I’ll never go back to 93 and meth. I’m mixing 93 and VPx85 and doing E40-E50. I’ve mixed 109 and VPC85 and that’s what was in my car for my 11.06. And still had my 1500cc of 100% meth injection, and nitrous. Fortunately there’s a local shop that recently has IgniteE98 for sale in drums or barrels. So I’ll be using that from now on to mix my eblend.

If it works….don’t stop using it.

What nitrous shot are you running i have an nx wet kit im about to install and i want to run a 100 shot... i know risky but ill have my wideband on by then and ill work my way up to it

You asked me this on YouTube also I believe. I ran a 75 shot pre TB and a 15 shot pre IC on the 11.06 run. I trapped higher mph after doing a 25 shot pre IC with the 75 shot pre TB after the 11.06 trying to get a 10 sec pass. I was having traction issues. But to be honest I was so dead set on trying to get a 10 sec pass I wasn’t being as cautious as I tried to be previously. I was risking it.

Spraying nitrous before 3rd gear for me resulted in an immediate and sudden loss of power (torque management) I’m assuming would shut me down.

I’d advise doing a much smaller shot to see how your car responds and go up slowly, always data log.

I was planning on running a 75 wet shot to start with then work my way up from there, i want to say im not gonna run more then a 100 shot but i already know id be lying if i said that. So i might invest in a second set of solenoids to run a 2nd stage of 50 to 75... im not making near the power you are so i might be able to get away with doing a 50 on the top of 2nd and then a 75 secondary shot in 3rd.

I’d be nervous going right to a 75 wet shot without testing smaller shots. But I was nervous going to a 75 shot even after trying 15, 25,35,50. With nitrous I just try to be cautious

Hey just fyi in case you're not aware, these cars have widebands from the factory. They also run continuous closed loop, so don't expect to very easily tweak your AFR with jetting. *edit: this goes for meth as well. Hose in all you want, the ecu is just going to cut back the injectors. Problem with that is a lambda target that's safe and optimal for gasoline is a preignition timebomb for methanol.

With wet nitrous or large amounts of meth It would probably be a good idea to have a race only tune that disables closed loop or specifically lowers lambda targets for whatever you're spraying. "Too rich" is not a thing when it comes to methanol on its own. Meth & gasoline combined is more complicated though.

I wasn't planning on running the meth with the nitrous, i was actually thinking of taking the whole meth kit off to be honest. Gearhead has expressed that he doesn't tune for meth, so that being said i wasted money on that lol

meth is a great sub for the cooling part and most will not tune for dependent. the biggest mistake is most spray too much and over fuel the motor thus making less power. the whole point is to bottom out the short term fuel trim without adding the over fueling. if your STFT is close to .71 (this is the bottom) at WAT your in the right space.

You can still run meth without being tuned for it. Tonight my car did 464whp no meth. 503 with meth same tune no adjustments. Methanol still has a ton of benefits like dropping the Intake temps and allowing you to build boost faster and maintain power through a pull even without being tuned for it.
