Guy working on my a/c says the dryer looks different as far as hoses go from a normal taurus. Online places are listing as same anyone know how I can get one w/o getting the wrong part. I'm looking for the accum. as well as the hoses that normally come with it. TIA!

That's because the MTX dryer/accumulator is different. It sits at the front of the engine compartment. ATX and normal Taurus dryers are at the firewall. I had a difficult time finding the correct dryer for my 94 MTX back in '03, and ended up located and ordering it online. http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?mfrcode=FAA&mfrpartnumber=55641&parttype=397&ptset=A

This was found on the Advance Auto Parts website. Factory Air part number 55641. The picture that accompanies it appears to be the correct one.

Are you SURE it is the right one? If not, post a link and I can confirm it for you.

Edit: After a search, I found one at RockAuto.com for $10879. Four Seasons Part Number is 55641. It's description is accumulator w/hose.

OK. On a 94, the part number is 55641. On a 93, the part number is 55620. The parts look to be identical. The part number you came up with is the correct part. It will work. Not sure why the part number is different for a 93 vs a 94 though.

Great now I'm worried. Haven't ordered yet. Still making sure I can get the correct part at the best price. Good new is the 90F temps are letting up after tonight.

I ordered mine on eBay for $35 shipped. :corn: Still haven't installed it though. There's usually one or two on there.

because some if not most 93's came with r-12 as opposed to 94 and up came factory with R134a...plus on the R134a accumulator hose i beleive there is another low pressure switch...either hose should work..if you get the one with the provision for the switch(R134a)you get get a block off cap to take the place of the switch as where if you get the other all you have to do is retrofit it to R134a...confused yet??
