If you mean pulsing in the steering wheel, probably your PS pump going south.

Oh. Well, I guess that's ruled out.

Is your car equipped with VAPS?

Pulsing as in it seems like the assist goes in and out slightly? I think that's pretty common and has to do with the valving in the rack. I have a reman rack and it does it a little, too. I'm using ATF in my power steering sytem, though...so it might be from that.

how can i tell if it has VAPS?
Start by including your year and transmission in your signature (or at least in posts when you're asking a question about your car) so people have some information to start with to help you out. :thumb:

Does the pulsation you're feeling feel like it's pulling back on the steering wheel a hair on you, somewhat rhythmically?

The rack is making the "sawing" motion that you are feeling.

I have a 95 ATX and I hate that pulsating sensation when im turning the wheel. Just curious can a Gen 1 steering rack be put in a Gen 2 ATX?????
