For those of you who have "dropped" the whole subframe/engine/tranny as an assembely, where do you attach your hoist chain to lift the body over said assembely?
Thanks

Just use a jack. Thats seems to be what everyone else does on here. I was fortunate enough to have access to a lift.

Jack , been there done that.

I welded a square tube beam accross the semi-frame at the height of where you seat. And I put my jack on it dead center , and the front came up. It also gave my some height by doing so.

Pics to come.

I run a nylon tow strap through the cowl and lift it with a cherry picker. I use the part of the cowl wear the head lights plug in, just on either side of the radiator. you can pick up the whole car and all like that with minimal damage. I found that to get the height you need to roll the engine out from underneath it has to be lifted several feet in the air.

the trick is to make a cart to set the subframe on, take off one of the front struts, undo the 4 bolts and lift the car right off the engine. then roll it out the wheel well of whatever side strut you removed. I've done three ATX swaps like that.
