Puddle of water on floor

So I've got an issue that is not only annoying, but is going to rot out my floor in my SHO. Typically after a heavy rain overnight, I come out to find my passenger carpet soaked. I have a weathertech mat on the carpet and it typically has a little water in it when this happens.

I was thinking passenger door seal, because I think I've seen water there, but not sure.

It doesn't happen in carwashes, doesn't happen when I'm driving it, and just the carpet is wet. I'm so confused it's not funny.

Any help, suggestions, would be awesome. Everything but bringing it to the dealer. Leak wet downs aren't cheap.

I had the same problem but, after my windshield got replaced it went away. Mine must have been a seal that goes around the windshield.

Check the firewall there is a A/C drain tube that could be plugged. I don't know exactly where but somewhere around center and could be a plain piece of rubber tubing that should drain to the ground. I am not saying 100 percent but sounds like a reasonable starting point.

Your sunroof drain line from the front passenger side of the catch pan may be leaking into the car instead of exiting on the outside.

most likely (in order of my experience) is sunroof drain plugged, windshield gasket, door gasket. A door gasket that will leak that much will almost always have extra wind noise, and a windshield gasket that leaks that much will usually have a wind noise, so have someone with good ears sit in the front passenger seat as you drive on the highway to see if they can hear any extra whistling type noises in that area.

It doesn't make any whistling noises, it's quiet as **** in the car. I'll check the sunroof drain. Where specifically does the drain route and drain onto the ground?

This. Heater/AC box fills up, and flows over onto the passenger carpet.

My '97 Cougar does this - its AC drain looks like a "******" in the firewall. Gets plugged with crud from sitting outside. Run a twist-tie or some other piece of stiff thin wire into it, wiggle it around, it starts to drip.

Although the sunroof drain sounds reasonable as well. It's a plastic piece of tubing that runs from the sunroof area down inside the "A" pillar. If I remember correctly, my '96 T-bird "wet itself" a time or two until I realized the plastic tubing came off up at the sunroof. If it was ever installed correctly in the first place. Put it back on, problem solved.

I wonder if it would be a bad/good idea to use a can of compressed air to blow through the tube from the top at the sunroof opening? Or might this dislodge the hose and cause another problem?

Of course, if you have not been driving in the rain or the car sitting outside, it may be more likely to be the AC condensation drain line. Though same question applies re: compressed air.

And yeah, I know this is an old thread.

i just use the air compressor to blow out the line and run water to make sure there flowing pollen / road dust will block the lines,
