Hi

I went to replace the oil in my PTU and found there is a small leak through the right shaft seal. My mechanic assures me he can change those without removing the PTU (2.5 hr job).
Been looking around and haven't been able to find the PN for what I need to buy, anyone has the parts diagram for the PTU?
Thanks in advance.

What color was the oil leaking? There are 2 fluids that can leak from the right side. Transmission and gear oil. Brown would be the 7r284 and dust cover 7h459. Red would be the green triangle kit.

2010, it's in my signature. Does it vary?

Its gear oil, leaking from the plastic part 7H459.

Sorry,I can’t sigs using Tapatalk. That pic is for a 2010. Not sure if it’s been superseded or not. Probably check
Ford parts .com to confirm.

If your using mobile like me, becuase who uses a computer nowadays, I dont see signatures.

Any who, you'll need just the two parts. Things can vary from year to year. Also the kit may be cheaper than the individual parts.

I noticed that to, so I need the kit + 7R284.
So the yellow thingy is to be removed and discarded after inserting the shaft, right?

I use a computer whenever possible. "Doing" most things online completely sucks on a phone. "Doing" meaning anything more than just scrolling and reading.

Phones are getting closer to pocket computers. I agree sometimes a desk/laptop is more convenient. Although my past and current note series phones are getting pretty good at multi tasking.

Well, they ARE pocket computers. What I find amusing is the 30 year olds that used to call computer guys "nerds" suddenly can't live without using them everywhere at all times. "80 MPH? No biggie, I'm just looking at a website on my pocket computer!"

You just cannot beat a nice chair, big desk, a full-size quality mechanical keyboard, a full size mouse, and two big monitors side by side. Unless you go with three screens.

Both are true. Dual monitors change the game.

I guess I'm over compensating. At work I have a 2x2 set up run by a laptop. 5 screens in all. I keep the laptop closed most of the time.

Jelly. I tried three, but my laptop at work won't run more than 2 external screens. I think it's a limitation of the Thunderbolt dock.
