13 sho with PP, just want to make sure I get correct fluid and quality fluid. Is this the stuff I keep hearing about or is there a better option?

I like the Amsoil 75-140 severe gear oil.
Thanks for the recommendation. Looks like $40 on Amazon, they must be proud of that stuff! All jokes aside, any specific reason this is your go to? Just want to get as much info into these things I can.

You can get it much cheaper than that. The main reason I use it is you can get it in a squeezable bag. Just stick a 12" hose on the end of the bag nozzle and squeeze it in. Royal Purple and Redline are good for draining your bank account if that's what you're after.

All synthetic PTU oil is going to hold up about the same which is not well at all. It's cooked by the cat running right along side of it and replacing it often is the best thing to do. I'd run Wally World oil and swap it out every 5,000 miles before I'd buy Royal Purple or Redline swapped out at 10,000 miles.

Yes, I found an oil blog where the guy is a mechanical engineer and he has rated the amsoil 75-140 as being one of the best.

Search for section 55-gear oils.

Do you see a breather tube for it by your brake master cylinder? If you plan on flushing it with ATF I'd pour a few ounces down the breather tube each time and let it sit overnight. The breathers get plugged up on these PTU's from the cooked fluid and will force fluid out the seals and/or puke fluid out the breather when the pressure builds up. Some don't have the breather tube to the master cylinder area and are just a short stub on top of the PTU. I believe they can be removed and cleaned while in the car but I've never done so since I have the breather tube on mine. I bought mine with 41,000 miles on it and never flushed it. I just started sucking out 12-14 ounces of the 18 ounce capacity at every oil change after doing that 2-3 times initially. Wiping the metal shavings off the fill plug magnet each time is equally important.

You could spend a few lifetimes reading up on stuff here:

https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/

And I've never seen the ridiculously expensive "boutique" oils like Royal Purple or Redline rated any higher than a lot of the others.

I believe mine has the tube although I haven't looked too closely. I know it has the temp sensor in the fill hole as it is a PP. I was planning on filling through the vent tube. I've seen videos of it done on my year/model/PP it looks like a few hours the first time and hopefully progressively easier going forward.

FWIW, I have tried filling mine through the vent tube using gravity only but it would probably take a month to do.

I use a pump that connects to a quart oil bottle, it works well to fill the PTU or the RTU. Fill till the oil starts to drip from the fill hole, then let it drain till it stops. Put the plug back in.

I work with 12 mechanical engineers. I believe half of what I see from them and nothing of what I hear....

You can go on 10 different web sites and have 10 different "experts" tell you what oil is better. Anything synthetic should outperform conventional fluids.
All the big brands have quality products.

Don't care what ya run. Change it. Once a year.

I do amsoil cause I had a ton of it left over.

I went 25k on my first ptu fluid and when I drained it I could've easily put it right back in.
