Had PTU fluid replaced at local Aamco. Cost was $150 + the fluid I had them use. Car is a 2014 model with 31k mi. Fortunately it was not sludgy & there was some metallic material on the plug but not bad. They advised me one of the turbos is leaking oil- aargh :shakehead:. Bought the car at Carmax along with their warranty. Took it to them today. Hopefully it's approved for replacement or I'm going to be hot. :cussing:They did provide a rental car at their expense.

Any reason they wouldn't replace it? Does the warranty have exclusions?
The service adviser called earlier today & said they requested maintenance records (oil changes). Fortunately I had them. I assume they might have denied it if those could not be produced. Adviser called late in the day & said it was approved. :)

I had my turbo replaced on my 2014 last month and it is covered under Ford’s 5yr , 60000 mile power trane factory warranty. For you and I it expires this year

Interesting. Carmax told me the warranty co. first checks to see if claims are covered by the mfg. warranty. Then they processed mine through the add on warranty I bought so I assume mine was not covered by Ford.

I do not have an extended warranty on my 2014 , the factory warranty took care of it and it cost me $0

Update- got the car back on day 9. All seems well. They (Carmax warranty) covered it in full, including the 2 extra days of car rental, $0 deductible. Kudos to their warranty, I'm pleased.
