Flyin' High
I went to my local Ford Dealer and bought front brake pads, Motorcraft brand, for my 95 MTX...Anyways, I put them on my car and took a test drive around the block and heard a grinding noise...I took them off and put the original ones back on, putting the new ones aside thinking that the fit wasn't quite right because they weren't Ford O.E. I know, slap
Well, I did some research and found an article that some guy wrote where he says that Ford has the wrong part # in their system for the 95 SHO. I went to Ford and they have the 95-99 SHOs listed as having the same size front brake pads. I said bs I showed them the brake pads that they sold me (the top of the pad extended beyond the edge of the rotor causing a ridge, also the bottom of the pad rubbed against the (spindle?) causing the grinding) and told them that the 94 & 95 SHOs had the 10.9 inch rotors and the 96-99 SHOs had the 11.6 inch rotors, therefore they (95 & 96-99 pads) could not be the same.
They tried to convince me that since the computer says that the 95 is listed as having the same pads as the 96-99 SHOs, then it must be true, so they won't exchange the pads for me for the right ones (the ones listed for the 94). madflame I even went to Autozone and Checker's and they have the same issue...they are listing the 95 pads as the same as the 96-99 pads. I have been going back and forth rant with Ford telling them that I should not have to pay for pads again since it is obvious that the pads they sold me are listed in their system incorrectly.
I talked to the customer relations manager at the dealership and she contacted the regional customer service manager, who said he had to talk to the engineers to see what was going on with the pads and then they would see IF they would exchange the pads for me. squint Ummm, ok. So if they decide that I am full of S#!T, that I don't know what I am talking about, then I'm going to get **** . headbang Anybody seen this before (the 95-99 pads being listed together instead of it being 94-95 and 96-99)? Sorry for the long post and thanks for any help. By the way, here is the site with the article that I found Don't get the wrong brake pads... Click on 'members only' on the left side and then scroll down to the above mentioned title...Thanx thumb
