Yea, that case is some 18 year old aluminum... Everything is as stiff as possible on my car... except for the trans mount. RCM has stock ones under $50.

having driven a car with a solid trans mount for 2 years. I would advise against it. While the throttle response is awesome, it makes everything terribly rough. Find a stocker in good shape and stick with that.

Just do this to your stocker, make sure you use a large rubber washer. I got it from the HELP isle at a good autopart store. That mount has been onmy 89 for couple years along with my re-enforced frt mount.

You're lying to yourself if your saying your not going to be ripping on it. Just put in a stocker, its a lot easier than replacing a transmission.

This is a much better solution than using a solid mount. Limits movement, while still damping vibrations.

You could do this to your currently ripped mount, and you might even be able to get 2 bushings in there...one on the front (as shown) and one on the rear. You would have to use a countersunk carriage bolt in the rear, though.

I just ordered a new mount from Rockauto yesterday. 35 bucks plus shipping. It'll be here today.

Am also looking for a new mount; the one for sale on Rockauto is not the correct MTX mount for sure, as there is a picture.

i made the mount that was i sinistersho's car and i gave it to him because i couldn't take the vibration any more. i reinforced my new trans mount like the one pictured above but i did both sides front and back. i am a way happier person with out the solid mount. i strongly advise against the solid mount.

I assure you I ordered the right mount. Do you go into autozone and ask for a TOB and take what they give you or do you give them a part number ;)

I was wrong though, it wasn't 35 bucks, it was 34.79 plus discount :p
