Who all uses these? Who likes them, who doesn't?

On the MTX where exactly do you fit the "T" in? The heater hose is under the intake and part of it is metal. My brother's 95 ATX had one fitted by someone...can't remember exactly how it was on there.

It doesn't get too cold down here but it does get to freezing temps. I figured I'd change the coolant out in my 2 cars soon sometime when I get bored.

I read that you can flush it out with tap, pour the 50/50 mix in until it starts to come out and it gets alot of the remaining tap water out of the system leftover from the garden hose.

What's the easiest way to do the flush then? I did a search and it said something about removing a TB coolant line....but which one? I just want to drain the old crap out, run a hose through the system, then buy the yellow Prestone 50/50 stuf and pour in until it overflows out, purging the tap water out and replacing the whole system with 50/50 coolant and distilled water.

As for disposal I'll just drain into buckets and pour down the toilet since most sewers can handle it. Any excess that flows out onto the driveway, I'll wash down really well with a hose so animals can't get into it.

Just save a couple milk jugs (I've used Simply Orange/Lemonade/Limeade bottles and 2 liter bottles are great too) and empty oil bottles and bottle the old stuff. You can take it to any Walmart or Autozone type place instead of dumping down your toilet or into your local ecosystem.

I don't see the point in using those things because you are introducing tap water into your cooling system when it should have distilled water only. I'd use one only if your cooling system is in rough shape. Otherwise, remove the front and rear block drains, drain the radiator, and refill the system. 50/50 antifreeze is a rip-off. It is much less expensive to mix your own -- Buy a gallon of distilled water at the grocery store, and a jug of full strength antifreeze.

Yes, this is true and I do it if I'm doing a complete system flush, but it's much more a PIA if you are just trying to top it off and so I keep a gallon of 50/50 around just for that.

whats the point of this? Just open the drain **** on the radiator or remove the lower radiator hose and start her up and let it all drain out, put her back together and fill her up with the radiator cap off to eliminate any air.

Thanks guys. I'll just do the drain and fill routine...seems easier than trying to splice a connector into a hose, run tap water through the system, try to get most of it out, refill etc.

I'll just disconnect the lower radiator hose as stated, start it up and let whatever is in there run out, reconnect the hose and refill with the green stuff and distilled water.
