Well I've been hearing a grinding noise around the accessory belt and pulleys for the past week or so.. and today I developed a crazy terrible noise. (Grind and clunk) It was only at idle and it was off and on. Then something broke I parked the car and went to get back into it 2 hours later.. I go to pull out of the parking lot and I have no power steering! I check the ground and their is a huge puddle of fluid. I popped the hood and their was no fluid in the reservoir. I turned the car on and look down at the pulleys, what I assume to be the pulley for PS pump is wobbling like crazy, and their is fluid every where around it. I assume my PS pump shit the bed? I have no tools, no jack, no room to do anything so a shop is going to fix it, unless we have a member in the Oswego or Syracuse, NY area. What is this going to cost me? The car is 1993 SHO MTX.

Check the PS Cooler and see if anything sprung a leak there (mine sprung a leak and caked it so bad I had to cut the cooler out and pop in a in-line piece of pipe.) Sounds like you ran the pump so dry it started to tie up bad and might cause the shaft wobble but how much fluid was around it where was it coming out of?

All of the fluid was out of it.. it covered the whole back side of the engine. As soon as I put more in it runs right out of the pump it. The pulley on the P/S pump is wobbling and making a terrible knocking, probably because it's bone dry. I'm sure the pump is fried now that I've had it for a couple days... now just the cost of it... I just got the question at a shop and he gave me an estimate of 4-6 hours of labor and at $65 an hour! Half the shops around here are scared to work on it and the other want to screw me.

Well the time was estimated right and the cost doesnt sound to bad, a little pricey , but keep shopping around. Where exactly are you located?

MY pulley was wobbling really bad (so much so I was nervous looking at it for fear it would let lose and the whole thing fly up in my face) and I priced a replacement (about $150 new) but trust me it is a bear to get to to try and replace it. If you do be sure you can first remove the line that goes to the steering unit. IF you can then the three bolts can be removed. Remember to loosen the pulley wheel bolts BEFORE you loosen the serpentine belt. Trust me, if you have the money let a shop do it. My hands and knuckles still havent forgiven me.

Get a power steering delete belt...
That should help till you get it fixed...
Search for it, the belt #'s are all over the forum...
Good luck!!
It's not as hard as changing an engine, and leaving the compressor in the car.. (pulled some hair out, and lost some of skin on that one..)

My one friend that did my injectors last time has tech training, 40 hours at a dealership and another 15 at Lowe's, so he has no time. 3 respectable shops in town have been giving me the major run around. How can it take 2 days to do some simple pen and paper stuff and a internet search or parts call.

*Update*

It was the pump, I ended up getting it through my Dad's company for $151, my Dad payed for it. My Dad's friend that has pretty much worked on everything in the past 25 years fixed it in 2 1/2 hours and didn't charge me anything, so I gave him $100.

I think I made out pretty well. All this time I never knew this guy was a mechanic... I'll know who to go to next time!

Oh... it drives like a freaking dream now too.
