:madflame: Its been going on for a while, it only happens after she gets warmed up. There is smoke coming from the back side of the motor, from something dripping down on to the exhaust, not sure if its ps fluid but thats all that makes sense to me.

It could be ps pump leaking, but more likely to be rear cam seal behind CID. A leak here will drip down onto the ps bracket. Could also be leaking rear valve cover seal, plug well seals, other 2 cam seals behind timing belt sprocket or front crank seal.

First thing to look at is for oil on the ps bracket and then under the CID housing since that is pretty easy to spot.

What year / how many miles / when was last front and upper 60K done?

Were all the seals mentioned replaced?

Also, I forgot to mention, pull a rear plug wire and see if there is oil in the plug wells.

I'd just get an inspection mirror and a good light and try to narrow down the oil (or ps fluid) trail first. Once you find it compare the leaking fluid feel and smell to some engine oil (get some from the dipstick) and ps fluid (get some from the reservoir).

I just went thru same thing......2 bad cam seals and plug well seals....all is well now. That's about all I have to offer for now so, good luck and inspect with a keen eye! :thumb: :)

WORD on the above, I had the exact same problem and thought it was my PS pump, turned out to be the rearmost cam seal.

Even if they did replace it it's very easy to mess up.

Check out the SHOPP website for more info on it.

Maybe from rack, but check pump & bracket first.

Also, be sure and check to see if oil is leaking from CID/rearmost cam seal. You might want to remove the CID to see if oil is in the housing behind it.

Thanks!

That sounds mighty like one of the many leaks on the SHO I recently purchased :) one of the many I have to fix. I will be looking in the same area (rear valve cover / CID Sensor ) Thanks for the info!!!
