power losses

Ok, I was just informed that secondaries can not take away 2 secs. from your 1/4 and I am currently running a 17.053 and its not driver error either. So my question is with no c/e lights and no other visual/audible problem. what could it be? I know it could be almost anything. Could it be semi-clogged cats? I was running rich with a stuck t-stat for a while? Is there any way to test the cats on the car? thanks guys. I am a little frustrated because I know this car has some major ability but mine isn't SHOing it. cry headbang

I would say a clogged cat. Those are really slow times for a SHO. is there exhaust coming from both mufflers?

there is exhaust coming from both pipes.

Are your secondaries working? I don't know how much time they could cause you to lose if they aren't working but 2 seconds doesn't sound too far off. What's your trap speed? I believe muffler shops can do a backpressure test to check your cats.

I think that if the secondary intake runners are stuck open, then you would loose a lot of torque and quite possibly 2 seconds.

yeah, my secondaries weren't working but now they are. (haven't been back to the track though)here is what shonuff93 said,"shorook, 17's are terrible too, with an 83 mph trap speed you are in trouble, no way a low 15 second pass is in your future, sounds like you have more problems than just the secondaries." any thoughts? thanks guys

Run your codes, I guess? Not sure what to tell you if you think it's running good anyway. With the secondaries fixed that should help a lot, at least.
Exaust will still come out both pipes even w/ a clogged cat, because the exaust path splits after the converters.
