Power Loss After Catback

Hey guys, Just got back from the dyno after my magnaflow catback was installed and I lost 20hp and 25lbft. Before this I had the catted downpipes, 3 bar, and the livernois tune and it mad 390hp and 450tq. After the catback I'm at 370 and 425....anyone have any ideas on this? I'm not sure where I went wrong here.

Same dyno as previously? How about weather conditions between the two times? Catbacks won’t gain any real power, but certainly won’t cost you power.

Yeah, same dyno, just about the same weather. I even checked to see uncorrected figures too, everything was down. I wasn't hoping for much if any gain, but its now noticeably slower and obviously that bothers me having just spent 900 on an exhaust. I was going to take it in for custom dyno tuning to try and resolve the issue but I can't find a place in Denver that can do it on SHOs.

Have you tried calling Livernois and see what they have too say, your tune is set up for specific parameters if you change the parameters it could make a difference. Its just a guess though keep us posted on how it turns out.

Livernois responded today and evidently, there are no new parameters for the mods I put on. I tried reflashing the tune anyway and pulling the battery cable to reset the KAM but still the same thing. I don't know, I'm at a loss here.

IDK either, one thing may not have anything to do with the other, If it was me I would find someone to take a look at the data an figure out what is going on with the motor and go from there. If you have some way to data log there are some people out here who may even be able to look at your data an help. Keep us posted.

No leaks, right? Possibly a defective catback, or one wrong for the application? I would call up Magnaflow and have a chat, if the install looks good.

Well this makes me want to keep the sleeper image a little more...

On a side note, it's that time of year for winter blends

My guess goes towards that, IF your previous dyno pull was in June-August

Maybe a happy day the first time 390 seems really high for a non meth or e85 blend
