i run sunoco gas pretty much all the time, well perhaps the 87 with the LPM was making it run low on power? guess we will find out this friday, bandito is getting a upper 60 k tommorow , just to double check every thing and to replace a leaky seal. then we are installing a ported intake and stock maf. i will run the 87 out of him and use premium when i got to the track friday, i will post the results.

Good Luck and hope the numbers are better next time ! just my .02 cents..... Stick with the big refiners; Sun refining (Sunoco), also Citgo, Marathon.... is not top tier; having visited nearly all the Petroleum and Petrochemical R & D facilities and refineries across the country, (and sold many of their automated distillation units), there is a big difference; Sun is not as small as Sinclair or Murphy, but they are quite small in comparison and do not have the facilities/capabilities/scientists/budget = final product... the big guys have..
We also tested their final products on site while at these facilities........one reason why I'll only use the top tier brand.

half-way there, I think.
If the car is chipped (LPM) you should be getting the ROM error code. If you're not getting any codes, than the code reader is bad or the LPM has worked itself loose.

well we pulled it apart today and when we lined up the front cams dot with the mark the rear banks cam was off 2 teeth and the crank was off 1 tooth, perhaps this explains only 91 mph in the 1/4. the funny thing is how well it ran and how smooth it was. the timming was last done over 4 years ago by a ford dealer ship in texas. so its getting that changed and a new water pump while im at it.

It blows me away that the timing was off. It never even hinted there was any issues. It just ran super good. I guess it goes without saying..... dont trust a ford house with your sho!

well its going to be done right this time, the cam seals was leaking and making that oil smell so they are also getting done, the water pump has play in its shaft so thats getting done, bandito should feel like a new car when we are done, we are also putting on a PA SHO shop "stage 2" intake as well.

NOt........Texas is one of the most humid states even though it rains very little most of the summer; dew points (the true measure of moisture content in the air) in the 70's are the norm and to me it was absolutlely miserable to live in (I did for 15 yrs. in Austin), and am so glad to be out of there (sorry Texas Sho guys...).....
90 degrees in Chitown yesterday, but dewpoints in the 50's makes it very comfy.

when we got into texas it was like 4 am the fog was so thick it was like rain was standing still in mid air. the north east has extreme humidity in the summer only surpased by the rain forest but we dont have fog like that.

A PA SHO shop stage 2 intake is when all the runners are ported and polished as far as a dremel will allow and the tanks are also worked over pretty good all gasket matched ect, we also mod the crank vapor inlets that fill your intake runners with a coat of sludge over time so that they dont do that any longer. stage 3 would be all of that cept the runners get sent out and extrude honed and the use of bbb's with no air horns. area 91s "green bastard" has a stage 3 on it. i just left the shop about a hour ago we should be ready to button bandito up by tommorow night. he is all freshened up now. friday i will be taking him to the track to see if that crappy 91 mph is all fixed, we are sure the timing alone being off a few teeth like it was not to mention the fact i used 87 octane with the LPM was the reason behind the low MPH. area 91 also spent the day today redoing the valve shims, while they was in spec they was almost all at the higher end of the spec and to get that extra bit of lift we like to run on the tighter to middle of the spec.

From the time I have spent in Arizona, it seems to be just dry heat.. Our 85-90* w/100%humidity felt like their 105*...

Well we put the car back to mostly stock , for now we are running a stock intake and stock MAF with no LPM, it seems to be more snappy and responsive on the street but untill i see a trap speed i cant be sure if its better or worse, we think the LPM may have been the problem, i will swap in the LPM and 80mm MAF after 2 passes and see if its better or worse.
