The past couple days whenever I try to start my SHO in the mornings or after a long period of time, everything goes out, the clock the lights even power windows and locks. Yesterday I jumped it three times with no go and it came back briefly when I disconnected and cleaned the battery cables. I haven't had anyone to really take a look at it but from description I heard the altenator could be dying but I suspect it could just be the battery cables. The positive had a lot of corrosion which I cleaned last night and the ground cable is pretty worn out looking.

It is usually the battery connections.
Clean as you did, use dielectric grease and verify tightness.

It just went out again I disconnected the cables and reconnected them but this time I still don't get any power. I noticed that when I connect the positve cable I do get a bit of a spark when it touches the battery nodule.

My guess is those cables. The ground may not be sufficient. I'm gonna call you.

Try looking at your conections at the Distribution Block on your firewall on the drivers side, I had an issue like this and it was the wire harness connector for the battery cable/starter had corroded and was hanging on by a single wire or two. Just had to soder a new connector on the end and was good to go..

Might or might not be your issue but something to look at.....

same problem

I've got the same problem in my '92. For me it is a loose connection/slit in the negative cable. If i wasnt planning to restore the car this winter i would have a better look at it.
