Wal-Mart Special:shakehead:
-Sony H.U. 45w x 4, no pre outs, but a hi/low converter installed, MP3 plug in, and remote.
-Sony 6x9's in the rear deck, 300watt
-Sony 6.5's in the door, 190watt
Sounded pretty good by itself, for the price, but decided I wanted to bother the neighbors!

So, in went the subs!:oogle:
Pair of 12" MTX Road Thunder subs, 800 watts each, parallel in the box
Xplore (Ebay) 1000 watt 2-way amp
Sound's pretty damn good for ~$350, and the subs aren't even broken in!

caps suck! lol been there... done it...

wow, got some really nice setups roamin these cars. The one thing im noticing is the lack of farad caps, even half caps. I guess to each their own. I don't have one ... but I would like to get a half cap at some point

screw the caps!!! buy a kinetics!!! does way more affect ( the 600 one is eqivilent to 100 farad cap )

;)

Sorry not feelin it. I do this everyday of my life and 4HE 2's with 4 301m's in a ported box made by Yours truley hit 149. I suggest having it mic'd correctly with the mic Iasca uses before saying some nonsense. my ears tell me my one 10 hits at 170 jsut so you know

LMAO!!! i hear ya! i think i hit 147 or so with my 2 12's .. its hard to get high spl in the sho! i mean it seems loud... but 150+ db's ..... lol i find that hard to beleive too! hehehe

i tried to compress pics to 25 kb.... still cant upload!!! i have no clue why not??? it says maximum is 36 kb.. im bellow that! if someone can tell me how to post a pic and will put some up of the system

For some reason, I've never posted in this thread, but here's what I've got:

Kenwood XXV-01D headunit
Kenwood HD Radio add-on tuner
CDT CL-61 component speakers
Elemental Designs 16Kv.2 sub
(2) Elemental Designs NINe.2 amps
sealed doors with lots of Elemental Designs eDead sound deadening

Here's some pics of the equipment in my old 95. Its now installed in my 93 with some minor improvements.

The sub box lets me keep almost all of my trunk space. Eventually I will make a false wall to cover the amps and sub. I've got a set of Elemental Designs e9.65 components that I was going to install, but they don't fit in the Taurus' crappy speaker bracket. As it is, I had to make some MDF spacers to get the CDT components to fit.
