I love the front end look on the early SHO up to 91, wondering if the only body differences between those and 92up is front fenders, bumpers, grill and lights. Could I move front end body stuff from an earlier SHO to my 92?

thanks for the info!

Ill keep my eye open for gen one parts. maybe even a plus hood. :)

My hood is rusty, this thread is sort of an idle curiosity thing as I consider options to repair that. Ironically, I was given a whole extra gen 2 body kit with my car.

Didn't someone do this a few years back? I seem to remember one being for sale that was a hybrid like that.

I've seen it done both ways.
One person had a 91 front clip on a 92 on eBay years back.

Another local here in Florida had a gen 2 fron clip on an 89,I saw that one with my own eyes.

on the gen 1, the only thing different from a regular taurus is the bumper right? are there differences in the header panel? What would have to actually come from a gen 1 SHO vs a regular taurus?

lights and grill all seem to be at the same angle. Reason I ask is that it will be easier to find a regular taurus in a yard for basic body parts. Then I can find the bumper skin for the SHO gen 1 specifically.

There was one here in Washington, but it looks a little odd. The Gen 2 is a longer, sleeker design than the more boxy Gen 1. It kinda looks like a Gen 2 tripped on the way out the door.

The slo gen I hoods are a little different than the sho hoods. They have a slight indent instead of being smooth all the way across.

I ran into an issue with the hood strut mount hitting the crossover tube, when I put a slo hood on my 90.

I gave Jason parts off one of my cars to repair his gen 1 after he forgot to tighten his lug nuts and the tire flew off taking out the fender and part of the hood and bumper. Gen 2 front end on Gen 1. Sold that car to Nick in Jax years ago.
You need all the parts mentioned above.

yup. my brother's mocha 89 with green g2 front clip. we tore it all apart and scrapped it. its parts live on in a few different cars.

the trans went to shobill, the subframe too. the rear brakes were at one point on my 95 SE.

You will need the hood, bumper, and the trim pieces that go under the headlights from the SHO. Everything else is the same.

That was the car. Bummer it got scrapped- it was actually my dads car at one time that I hunted down by VIN and bought back.

There was no mocha interior available in 89. Only gray.
