I got it, I got it , I got it......nope I lost it. headbang Took a turn too fast and ping pong off one curb and over the other, ripped the oil pan, tranny pan and most of front exhaust off when we went over the curb. Hit a speed limit sign and sent it though the windshield, setting off both airbags. Then back into the street parking her nicely back on the left hand median. Myself(driver) and passenger(roommate) came out without one scratch.(you won't believe it after you see pictures). She's at the repair shop still since Tuesday and no update on estimate and repair(if even possible). She may need an entire new engine but I don't know. Never got a good look of the carnage from underneath.

>>I'll have pictures after lunch today. BUT I need help on how to post them here. If not I'll post them on my "cardomain" site.

Wow. Glad you're ok!
My wife and I saw an older Lumina do a similar stunt a couple months ago. Guy's hood flew open and he kept on driving! shrug

I am not sure what his cams had to do with it, but I am glad to hear you are all right. From the description, there is nothing there that is not fixable, particularly if the motor was turned off fairly quickly so you did not run it with no oil.

Anyway, keep us informed, and be more careful out there.

whatever it is, if you are interested in PERFORMANCE, get REAR WHEEL DRIVE and a V8.

V8 because anything one can do to a 2.0 Liter inline 4 can be done to a much larger displacement mill. Ask yourself how much air can this thing pump?

RWD because it seems that the last FWD tranny that was worth a $h!t for handling REAL torque came in an early 1970's Toronado with a transverse 455.(or its Eldorado brother)

Sorry about your car. Good luck with your next one and be careful out there. :)

I do not agree with Eric above. His description is fine for going to the drag strip. The Gen III SHO was never designed for that. If you want a fine twisty road or highway machine at very low cost, get another Gen III SHO. If you want a fast quarter mile from the lights, the GP is probably the way to go, since it seems you are after something within the price range of the returns from your insurance.

"if you are interested in PERFORMANCE, get REAR WHEEL DRIVE and a V8."

There was a reason that the SCCA had to create a separate class for the all wheel drive, high output DOHC 4 cylinder sport coupes, and it was not because the SCCA is fond of new classes.

Take your stupid charger off the t-bird then compare on the same course.

or in the spring when I will have mine on we can see whats better on a course, front or rear wheel drive. Ill send you track info when the time comes if you wish to accept this mission.
