No matter how often I clean it, the positive battery cable always ends up corroding at the battery post within a short period of time. I've tried battery grease, silicone spray, the felt washers and it makes absolutely no difference. Within a few weeks there will be major build up at the battery post. Anyone here have any suggestions on how to neutralize the acid and keep it from corroding? It's starting to affect the battery's ability to charge.

What he ^ said.

Also keep in mind batteries outgas more when they are being charged or dis-charged. So if your alternator is not working or overworking, that could be the problem.

No cracks in it from what I can tell. I will say that is discharges rather quickly too. Replaced the power antenna mast the other day and with just the key on to power the antenna motor, it drained the battery. Granted it was on for 15 minutes while trying to get the mast to go into the motor, but still that shouldn't drain it to the point it couldn't start the car.

The seal around the post is likely gone, causing corrosive gases or liquids to get to the terminal.

I had the same issues ********* in my old 77 F-150 way before I had my SHO. I switched to an Optima and ended that issue totally. Now every vehicle I own gets an Optima on it's way home.
