Team GI SHO, how did it go?

I wish I could have been there.

We missed you there too Ian.

The GI SHO did ok, and everyone had fun I think

Saturday it rained pretty hard. There was a lake in turn 7 from what I hear. We had two issues on Saturday. The wiper motor broke, and a front rotor cracked to the point it was not drivable. Both repairs combined took about 40 minutes or so, and we finished 17th or 18th out of 71.

Sunday we had different issues. Someone tried to run us off the track and the car took a solid but square hit to the passenger side. Shortly after that a power steering line blew. From either the wheel spin from the now oiled wheel or the hard hit, the tension strut pockets broke on the subframe. A quick weld repair, and the car was back out on track. I think we finished around 30th.

Overall the car was fast. Pitstops were fast. We just had a handfull of unexpected repairs along the way. The new Chumpcar schedule is out and there are two PIR races, a Reno race, a Spokane race and a couple other close fun sounding races. 37 total races from the year including Canada and Mexico. We really like running with Chumpcar, and we encourage others to try it in your area.

Mike
