Pops in the audio system when my aftermarket headunit turns off (and changes songs)

I believe that my Sony headunit "turns off" the amps (cuts rem amp power) between songs and obviously when turning off the unit. This causes an annoying "POP". My questions is, can I just install a cap of the proper farad to momentarily keep power going to the amps while songs are changed?

I have no idea how to go about the calculation required to arrive at say => .4sec of enough voltage to keep the amp from powering off.:oogle:

A cap should have nothing to do with it, your head unit shouldn't be cutting remote power between songs. Are you sure you have it wired to the remote wire and not some other random one?

Nope I'm sure it's the correct lead. The reason I say it's cutting off power is that it makes the same noise when I turn off the entire unit. This pop is consistent whether it's between songs, between inputs, or turning off. I'll actually try putting my meter on it to see what it's doing.

At first I thought I needed some type of ground or something, but I'm pretty sure that is not the problem

A cap cannot remedy this in the normal sense of its use. Sounds to me like something is actually wrong with the HU, or its just that crappy. You can have the remote turn on lead wired to any sort of power source that is on when the car is on and not on when the car is off if Im not mistaken.
