polishing rims?

Has anyone stripped the paint off the wheels, polished 'em and shot with clear? im throwing around the idea. Thanx!

just get a set 'Perma-chromed' ! some of the gen4 guys had their wheels done. I'm having a set done in black chrome.

yeah. i have a '92 with a full set of canadians, but i have a pair of italians for the drivers side that i want to put on. the biggest reason i was wondering is, i have a set of centercaps from the old "phone dial" mustang wheels instead of the "sho" caps and they look really good except theyre bare aluminium and the of course the slicers are painted. id hate to try and paint such a flimsy centercap because if you hit them just right when youre putting them on the car, theyll bow in the middle and it would crack any paint youd put on them. besides, my car is dark blue and i think polished aluminium wheels would look sexy! ill try and post pics later to give you an idea
