I decided to try and get my slicers polished. Can anyone shed some light on where to start? Where should I go to get it done? How much would it cost? Is it a do-it-yourself kind of thing? Thanks.

You can do it yourself, it takes about 5 hours per wheel. First you strip off all the paint and then wet sand them with 200, 400, 600 grit sand paper. Then you buff them with spiral sewn cotton buffing wheels and 3 different buffing compounds. Total supplies cost maybe $50. Try www.eastwoodcompany.com and search for "buffing wheel" and "buffing compound".

You could try to polish them yourself but regardless of what people tell you it is not easy. There is a company in texas called Wheel Technologys. Look them up on the web. I had my T/A wheels polished and powder coated for $125 a wheel and they paid shipping both ways. They mailed me pre paid shipping labels. I've never worked with a more professional company they bent over backwards for me. And the wheels look awesome. Their phone # is 1-800-210-2371. Also after they polish the wheel they will clear coat it so you don't have to worry about rubbing them every week.
