Just bought my first SHO, a 95 with a 3.2L, automatic. Although the car has 174k on it the motor is quite and runs good but has some nasty oil leaks. One leak drips oil onto the exhaust and the plug well to the no1 cyl. has alot of oil in it. The worst is coming from the top of the oil pan at the rear. Everything seems dry above the oil pan and i replaced the oil pan seals, im now thinking rear main!!!!
After browsing your forum, and not asking the previous owner about any pm that was done on the car, i would like to try to head off any future problems while im fixing the oil leaks. My list includes rod bearings, timing belt, water pump, vc gaskets, front and rear seals, cam seals and valve lash.
First question, is there anything that i should add to the above list?
Second, the only other motor i've pulled was a 3L from a 97 taurus (not an SHO) and although i dont remember why, it seems the repair manual had me set the no1 cyl. to TDC before i seperated the engine from the transmission!! Do i need to do the same with the 3.2L?
thanx,
