So I'm looking at the livernois website and looking at their colder plugs, 160 tstat and 3 bar map sensor and was wondering if I need their exact brand of all 3 or is there a cheaper option for each yielding the same performance results?

They don't have a brand. You can get the plugs and 3 bar MAP from Rockauto. I did buy the thermostat from LMS, though.

Livernois uses the motor craft plugs. They make sure gap is correct which you can buy and do yourself. The 3bar you can get anywhere as well it is a Ford part as Majestic said many people here get if from rocksuto.

Thanks. They say they are colder plugs, which motor craft plugs are they exactly? Also I found a thread for spark plug install write up, but all the pictures were missing. Anyone know a write up with pics?

Sounds right to me but don't take my word for it. I spoke to Livernois prior to ordering and they were very helpful in the phone regarding the whole setup and what plugs and gap, I didn't buy plugs from them.

I bought my SP-534 plugs and 3-bar sensor from Rockauto and went with a 170 thermostat from stage3motorsports. Got a used LMS MyCal tuner and after paying the transfer fee to my car($300), I was into the whole setup for about $605 iirc.

That's a good deal. Why did u go with 170 instead of 160?

Because I was impatient and cheap... LMS wanted $20 to ship the thermostat and I was able to get the 170 shipped for almost half their price. After already buying the 170, LMS stated they would have worked with me on the shipping price. If I were to do it again, I would have went with the 160. My car spends 98% of its time on the highway and I don't drag race, etc, so 170 does the job just fine.

IIRC the 170 is a hot side like the factory and the 160 is a cold side. How much of a difference that makes I don't know. I'm running the 160.

I see 182-185 when pushing her good and hard, have the 170 myself also about 95% or so on the highway.

Smart move with the 170 since temps are actually lower with that vs the 160.
