Plug read very lean

While doing vc gaskets I pulled one of the spark plugs. Ashy white running very lean. The intake and head ports are covered with black greasy residue. I have only had the car for a few months but it runs well with no issues. I did most of the 60k service and change the oil often. Any advice is much appreciated.

good chance of vacuum leak on one or more of the many 20 year old vacuum lines on the top side of the engine. check all carefully and replace any questionable ones. be sure to get all of them reinstalled correctly when you put it all back together.

btw, typically SHO plugs will be a little ash white / light brown.
