Quick question.... i did a search and it seems that the only thing that causes "bucking" and rough idle without throwing codes is spark plugs and spark plug wires. However please read and let me know if it could be anything else...

1. I was just riding dow the highway ran perfectly went to pass someone floored it for downshift and the engine died.

2. Now it will start buy idles rough and then dies. Giving it gas only accelerates this process.

3. No codes, no oil in the wells, no previous running or starting problems.

ANy ideas or advice?

Thanks

Brian

Sounds like its starving for fuel. Buy a cheap tire gauge and have someone prime the pump and you check for fuel pressure at the rail. Make sure you get an analog one that looks like a clock.

OK it was the fuel pump thanks guys....

Intermediate cut out of the fuel pump....i guess just being 12 years old doent help even though it has never been run low on fuel etc.

Next question.... how much is the pump + labor supposed to cost. I know you have to drop the gas tank i figure about 4 hours for that + the part... can i just get the auto zone or equivalent? Wasnt there a problem with some SHO's getting normal taurus fuel pumps at 90lph versus our 155lph...

Thanks
