hi guys,

i've been excperiencing some problems this past time with my 92 5 speed MTX SHO.

First problem

1-. while driving sometimes when you accelerate the car thrills and takes the acceleration bouncing and like if some other car hits it behind ( i do not if it missfiring) and also you hear like a a noise form engine bay and i think are the pistons going like paaab---paaab.

my SHO has only 80 K miles

Second problem

2-. also i ve been feeling this past time some funny idle going on with the engine. i know the rpm gauge and the normal idle for the engine is between 700- 875 rpm ( when car is on neutral - not driving) but well with my car is the oposite (wrong) way is happening. sometimes when i stop and i am neautral the rpm gauge moves up and down goes till 400 rpm bounces up again till 1250 rpm and goes again down and even sometimes keeps doing that goes to 400 rpm and stalls ( shut off) the engine. Also when neutral again sometimes the rpm gauge and the engine idle feels and it stays only at 1250 rpm and doesn't move till after the car has done 10 full stops/ After then goes back around to 800 rpm and it starts again to bounce from 400 rpm to 1250 rpm till sometimes the engine it shut's off (stalls).

please can anyone suggest me what to do .
any reply is really appreciated.

also what you do you gusy recomend to use (ecxept the motorcraft plugs) auto lite spark plugs or champion

thanks

Your post is very hard to read. Your first problem, i have no clue on. Although your second problem sounds like it could be the VSS. Try running your codes to see if the computer throws any. If you do not know how to do this, do a search or look in some peoples signitures. Lastly, do not use anything but Motorcraft spark plugs.

The first problem sounds like a spark misfire. Due from old spark plugs or old plug wires. If you check the EEC codes and don't find a code pointing to an engnie control system malfunction, the problem is likely the plugs or wires. Which plugs are installed? How long have they been in there? Same for the wires.

Please use ONLY the Motorcraft AGSP32PP or their successor. The wires I recommend are the Motorcraft parts from FordPartsnetwork.com, but there have been a few success stories from other premium brands.

The second problem looks more like the idle air control valve (IAC) or idle air bypass valve (IAB). The problem would be confined to the electrical position feedback of the valve and not correctrable by cleaning out the flow portions of the valve. The IAC valve is located on the passenger side of the intake manifold split at the throttle body ******. You can get aftermarket replacements at auto parts stores.
