never running!
Today I tried to I start the sho and see how it ran again - and noticed that it doesn't want to start. I hit the fuel pedal a little while cranking and it fires. Then it idles sooooo low it will stall unless I rev it. BUT - when i blip the throttle to around 2500 rpms - the tach jumps all the way to 8k. The engine doesn't rev any higher than what I am trying to - but tach jumps to 8k and holds there for about 2 seconds, even though I had let off the gas completely. Engine wasn't reving but tach said it was - then I blip'd the trottle to around 1500 and the tach jumped to zero - let off the throttle and it showed about 1k and then died since I wasn't hitting it anymore. What could cause this ?
There are no accessory pulleys on the motor - just wanted to see how it ran. The original DIS was bad - replaced with my DIS and it fired up, but runs like crap, when I put the crossover tube (with the DIS on) -the bolt that is closest to the firewall that holds it on snapped (so maybe a bad ground?) Could that shutter wheel on the cam sensor being 180 degrees off cause these symptoms?
